Trauma Informed Yoga

About Trauma-Informed Yoga

Trauma-Informed Yoga is a gentle, compassionate approach to movement and breath designed to support nervous system healing and reconnection to the body. It’s not about perfect poses or performance—it’s about creating a safe space to feel, release, and come home to yourself.

Trauma can disconnect us from our bodies. Whether the trauma is from a single event, ongoing stress, or lived experience, the body holds the story—even when the mind can’t. Trauma-informed yoga offers a path back to the body with sensitivity, consent, and empowerment at the core.

In these sessions, you are always in control. You’re invited, never instructed. Everything is an option, and choice is honored in every moment. The goal is not to fix anything—it’s to create space for presence, awareness, and healing.

We use simple, grounding movements, intentional breath, and mindfulness to support emotional regulation and gently rewire patterns held in the nervous system. Practices may be seated, lying down, or standing—tailored to your needs, energy, and comfort level.

This approach is rooted in both ancient yogic wisdom and modern somatic understanding of trauma. It’s supported by science and used in clinical settings to help individuals dealing with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic stress—but it’s also deeply spiritual. It invites you to meet yourself where you are, with compassion and curiosity.

Whether you're healing from something specific or simply seeking a more conscious, heart-centered practice, trauma-informed yoga is a nurturing step toward wholeness—on your terms, in your timing.
